Turtles are not the only creatures which burrow in the sand on Klein Bonaire. It's not uncommon to see dozens if not hundreds of small holes dug out of the beach, most of which belong to ghost crabs like the one depicted here. While turtles burrow to lay nests, ghost crabs live in their holes and come out to forage for food.
